About

Welcome to my space!  Thank you for your visit. 🙂

My name is Radhika Sethi. I have been in love with food as long as I can remember. It was my mother who introduced me to exquisite and healthy food and I have  been in love with it since. I miss her food all the time!

Although I wasn’t allowed to enter the kitchen when I was little, I was still a keen observer. My mom would turn on the radio and get out her pans and spices. I grew up listening to the good old Hindi songs while I would keenly observe her whip up our meals. I was allowed to help her in the preps when we had guests over and it was too much of fun. I would sit on the kitchen counter relating to her my day at school and would get to knick off some of the food while still in the pan. Pure bliss! 😉

My mom not only loved her spices but also had a sweet tooth! She loved Indian sweets as well as the western counterparts. As time passed and I gained my entry into the kitchen I would cook up dinner and started to get a hang of it. I loved it! I don’t cook by measurement but by intuition as my mother did! I forayed into baking quite late and over time, this hobby turned into my passion.

Baking desserts and pastry became a stress buster and whatever time I got out of my hectic schedule working in an investment bank I spent that into the kitchen. Learning and trying different recipes and techniques; experimenting with different flavors became something to look forward to after work.

It gives me immense pride and satisfaction when things like cake rises with perfection, when chocolate un-molds successfully without breaking and last but not the least when I see smile on faces of people in my work space and friends when they enjoy my creation. Above all, nothing can beat the aroma of freshly made chocolate chip cookies wafting out of your kitchen any day, everyday!

I have come a long way from baking cakes out of boxes  to creating desserts completely  from scratch. It now seems like  a good time to start tracking my creations and adding different pastries to my repertoire :).

My mother has been an inspiration for me all along and I am sure she would have been proud of me!

This blog majorly focuses on pastry recipes, sweet as well as savory. You might find an occasional piece on travel here and there. My DEAREST hubby (hereby referred to as Jeev or JS), yes i say DEAREST as it reminds me of the lovable Cedric (who would call his mother “DEAREST”) from Little Lord Fauntleroy, one of my favorite classics. Well, he and I both love to visit different places and it also gives us a chance to relish the infinite amount of food out there!

Enough with the talking…jump in to find out more…sinful!
